A new texture mod for The Witcher 3 gives Geralt the Rinnegan, offering six different eyes types for players to alter the White Wolf's appearance.
A new mod gives The Witcher 3's Geralt of Rivia a unique selection of eye types and colors inspired by the intellectual property Naruto. It has been almost seven years since the launch of the 2015 Game of the Year, yet The Witcher 3 continues to maintain a dedicated player base that actually spiked to over 70,000 concurrent users recently after the release of Season 2 of Netflix's The Witcher series.
There are a lot of factors that have contributed to The Witcher 3's massive success, but beyond the base game's renowned quality a major contributing element to its longevity can be traced to the support provided by the title's modding community. Like Skyrim, creators are still producing a healthy variety of different mods long after release.
Beyond bringing in looks from other intellectual properties, texture mods in The Witcher 3 have a unique place due to the existence of the Netflix show. Both the games and the show have taken separate routes when interpreting the world created through the books. This has given some dedicated modders the opportunity to bring some elements of the Netflix interpretation over to the game world, particularly when it comes to the character models of Yennifer and Geralt.
Unfortunately for players that download Geralt Rinnegan, they will not be given the power the comes with the change in eye color that is present in Naruto. There are quite a bit of gameplay-altering mods that exist for The Witcher 3, however, so there is always a chance that this could be expanded on in the future to impact combat as well.
