The Walking Dead's final episode includes a classic cameo you missed
The historic episode brought back Rick Grimes and Michonne for a post-credits scene teasingThe final scene at the Hilltop reuniting Maggie, Daryl and Carol also included a brief appearance from former cast member Chandler Riggs in the background., the cameo came about spontaneously when Riggs showed up to visit some of his old friends on set."Chandler Riggs was in town and he just asked to visit to say hi to friends," showrunner Angela Kang said.
"And then they were doing these scenes and needed some extras, and Greg was like, 'Well, you want to go for it? Get in there! Go get in the back.'" Director Greg Nicotero added that Riggs likely wore his own clothes in the shot rather than any wardrobe, but the actor was thrilled to make one final appearance in"Well, I heard they were shooting the last episode, and I thought, 'I feel like I should be there. It'd be so great to see all the old crew and the old cast and new cast that are all there'," he recalled."And basically, I felt like I should just be there for it.
"And apparently Denise hadn't told anybody that I was coming, and I didn't realise that. [Laughs] So I showed up, and Denise told the rest of the cast, 'So I told you guys I had a surprise for you on the last day. Here it is!' And I'm just like, 'Hey, guys!' And it was so just wholesome."
