Biden will also visit Amman, where he will be hosted by the king of Jordan and meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi but not Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, who has canceled a scheduled meeting.
Trump, who is running for president again in 2024, has not been a stranger to visiting areas of need, as he visited East Palestine, Ohio, earlier this year after a train derailment released toxic chemicals into the village's nearby waters.The former president was recently criticized over comments he made last week praising the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah as "very smart.
Gov. Ron DeSantis , Trump's biggest opponent in the primary, has pledged to"stand with Israel and treat terrorists like the scum that they are" if he is elected president, denouncing Trump's comments on Hezbollah and Netanyahu.
