For book-lovers who have always wanted to live out the fantasy of running a cosy little bookshop, there is a unique holiday rental to do exactly that
With spring just around the corner, it's time to start thinking how to make the most of the longer days and less wintery weather.
Located in the small seaside town of Wigtown in the southwest of Scotland is The Open Book. The charming bookshop is a favourite among locals, situated on the main street of the town. What makes The Open Book truly unique is as well as being a bookshop, it is also a holiday rental. Located above the store is a self-catered apartment that sleeps up to two guests.
Book-lovers who stay in the apartment can live out their dreams and run their own bookstore, as they will be able to manage The Open Book during the length of their stay. According to the Wigtown Book Festival website, guests can "change displays, price books, re-categorise them, and make inventive use of the blackboard that entices visitors in to browse or chat".
