Bay of Quinte MP Ryan Williams and his children helped tap a tree while he, a representative for MPP Todd Smith and Prince Edward County Mayor Steve Ferguson all spoke about the tradition of the event and the strength of agriculture in the community. With mild weather getting the season off to an early start at the beginning of February, the maple syrup producers participating have been so busy making syrup they’ve hardly had time to get ready for the annual festival.
