Park Harrisburg takes a hardline stance even when parking meters don't work properly.
PennLive Letters to the Editor
On May 19, I was issued a parking citation in the City of Harrisburg for parking in a residential only parking zone. I was given five days to pay $30. Failure to pay in that period of time increased the amount to $50. I contacted Park Harrisburg on June 5 to ask if I could pay the original $30 as I simply didn’t get to the ticket quickly enough. Additionally, I did attempt to pay the meter on Forster Street across from Speakeasy’s, where I was trying to have an hour-long lunch, and the meter’s credit payment system was not functioning properly.
I clearly stated all of this in the phone call, and I was told I had to pay the full amount. This system to me seems unfair, and I wanted to bring it to the attention of your readers.
