Opinion: The Los Angeles City Council looks like a corrupt racket
Elections have consequences, but before they do, the lame ducks have a few weeks left in office when they can really bite taxpayers.
Corruption, the dictionary says, is dishonest or fraudulent conduct by those in power, typically involving bribery. The council members approved the negotiated settlement on the recommendation of the office of Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer, who is himself in some hot water after the FBI raided his offices and the headquarters of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.
