The Lincoln L100 concept is a stunning EV with a living room cabin.

Designed to convey the company's vision for future transportation, the L100 is a bit of a transformer. The two reverse-hinged doors incorporate the entire sides of the car, while the roof is one massive shell piece that opens up and back. When all three pieces are open, it looks like a clam showing off its shiny pearl core. When closed, all you see is a stately, streamlined two-tone coupe with a set of massive wheels and an impossible-to-miss illuminated Lincoln badge in the nose.

Inside is where things really get interesting, though. In place of the normal steering wheel and dashboard setup is a center console design with a jeweled controller for the front passengers. There is no driver because, naturally, Lincoln claims the L100 is a completely autonomous vehicle. If you'd rather chat with your rear passengers face-t0-face than look at the road, well, you can. The L100's front seats flip forward so passengers up front can reposition themselves to face rearward, creating a roomier cabin meant to resemble a living space rather than a car.

Lincoln says the L100 uses"next generation battery cell and pack technologies," though it doesn't specify what sorts of technologies those are, or any other performance or range specs for the car—not that it matters, since this is a concept that probably can't even move on its own. “Lincoln has been one of the most enduring and stylish automotive brands in the world and in many ways, it is perfectly positioned for a second century defined by great design, zero-emissions, and technology-led experiences,” executive chair Bill Ford said in a statement. “Lincoln has always been special to me and my family, especially my father and my grandfather.
