Check out the new image below: Namely, the image suggests that, in addition to focusing on the power of religion during exorcisms, the film will incorporate elements of science as well, with the two possessed girls shown hooked up to medical equipment while they are exorcised.
How The Exorcist: Believer Deviates From The Original Green has made his love of Friedkin's original Exorcist quite clear, and from what's been shown off so far, the upcoming movie will serve as something of a love letter to the 1973 classic. The Exorcist: Believer's trailer, for example, teases the film's similar premise to the original in addition to various familiar filmmaking flourishes.
That being said, the film is also set to update the story in many ways, most notably with the reveal that two young girls are possessed this time around instead of just one. The new movie also stars Leslie Odom Jr., a person of color, in the title role, an interesting change from the all-white cast of the original.
