We’re looking for people who love numbers and words in equal measure
has always distinguished itself for numeracy and analytical rigour. Our data-journalism team conducts original quantitative research, deploying cutting-edge statistical methods to ask and answer important, relevant questions about politics, economics and society. We are looking to hire an aspiring data journalist for a six-month traineeship.
Work as a principal contributor to our online Daily Chart feature, analysing data and writing text for 1-3 articles per weekProvide assistance with statistical research to beat journalists as neededWe do not expect to offer the successful applicant a permanent staff job once the traineeship ends.Applicants cannot be simultaneously enrolled in university during their employment.We would prefer a candidate in London, but will also consider applicants based in New York or Washington, DC.
We cannot pay for relocation or sponsor a work visa for this position. Prior legal authorisation to work in either Britain or the United States is required.This is an entry-level traineeship, intended primarily to help aspiring data journalists gain skills and experience. We do not require any specific previous work history or technical abilities.
