This road is absolutely breathtaking
A scenic drive in the Peak District has been named one of the best in the UK. Snake Pass which runs through the national park was ranked the third best route in the UK by National Geographic’s Car SOS.
With its dramatic twists and turns it’s easy to see why the 26-mile long stretch of road made it so high on the list. It takes in the stunning scenery of the Peak District and offers drivers a thrilling and challenging route from Glossop to Sheffield. Snake Pass beat another Peak District route, the Cat and Fiddle which was ranked in ninth place. The iconic North Coast 500 in Scotland came in at number one.Three more routes near Greater Manchester made it onto the list. Ranking fourth is the A591 from Kendal to Keswick in the Lake District, while the Llanberis Pass in North Wales came in at number five. A moorland drive over the border in Yorkshire ranked seventh.1.
