Famed comedian and actor, who draws on ‘constantly shifting and changing’ experiences, closes Vancouver’s annual Just for Laughs fest.
“I like JFL shows, and I haven’t been to Vancouver in a long time, so I just wanted to go up there,” said Oswalt, who has a handful of Netflix comedy specials to his credit.
“I go up in little clubs and showcase rooms around L.A. It’s a really good time for small rooms where you can do short sets and work on stuff in front of a crowd,” said Oswalt. As for what’s on his mind, well, he can’t be specific, but he can narrow it down to one thing — himself.Article content “I watch a lot of Jeopardy. It’s a show that I enjoy. The way to prepare is you just got to get there and learn to adapt very quickly to hitting the buzzer quick enough. You’ve got to be able to buzz in. It really comes down to a split-second thing,” said Oswalt, who at the time of this interview had just won his Jeopardy semifinal. “You do a couple of little practice things, so you get a feel for the buzzer, how you’re holding it and how you’re standing, but not really much.
While he won’t say what the new projects are, he does confirm that he has a simple formula when it comes to picking jobs.
