A new bar perfectly concocted for the Halloween season opens Friday, Oct. 13 in Lancaster.The owners of Spring House Brewery bought the former Alley Kat Restaurant and Bar last summer and have transformed it into The Coffin Bar.'My hope is just to offer a place that’s going to be fun for people to come. It’s going to be unique and interesting. There’s not a bar like it around,' said co-owner Scott Richardson.
Why coffins?Richardson said the name of the bar came from one observation very early in the process.'We came into this property after the old Alley Kat had closed and when we were standing in this room here, looking and thinking about what we were going to name this bar, we noticed the shape of the bar was the shape of a coffin,' said co-owner Scott Richardson.Everything after that just built on the concept.
