The forecast of one inch was just a little off.
Bob Owen /San Antonio Express-NewsThe worst snowstorm ever to hit San Antonio, dropping 13.5 inches of snow on the weekend of Jan. 12-13, 1985, didn’t come without warning — at least a small one.
The National Weather Service prediction that day proved to be off a bit. By the time the Sunday newspaper came out, 9.2 inches of snow had been recorded, meriting the “Snowbound!” lead headline across the front page, noting that amount was already a record.
