That way, you can keep the wonderful classic alive in their hearts for years to come.January 18 is National Winnie the Pooh Day, in honour of creator A.A Milne's Birthday. A. A Milne was born on this day in 1882, in Kilburn, London.
Christopher Milne renamed his toy bear after Winnie, a Canadian black bear he saw at London Zoo, and Pooh, a swan they had encountered while on holiday. A.A. Milne, Daphne’s husband and Christopher’s father, was so enamoured by the bond he witnessed between the boy and his bear, that he began to write stories of friendship about their journey through life together. And so, the stories of Winnie the Pooh were born!
