Following its smashing success in 2022 with The Batman movie, Matt Reeves is getting ready to continue his Elseworlds-based franchise with the story of The Batman - Part II. Why The Batman 2 Is Taking So Long Close There are many factors to take into account when it comes to what is going on with The Batman - Part II and why it is taking as long as it has to happen. Initially, The Batman - Part II was set to start filming in November 2023, as the film had a release date set for October 2025. However, the Hollywood strikes that took up most of last year delayed the script from being finished, while actors were also not filming in light of standing with their unions.
The Penguin TV show is confirmed to bridge the gap between the events of The Batman and The Batman - Part II .
