is definitely its best so far, but the series feels weighed down by its clunky first half, and even this episode—a marked improvement in many ways—had its share of issues. Still, overall I had a lot more fun with ‘Night’ than with any of the previous episodes. Let’s look at the good, the bad and the ugly in tonight’s episode.I’m happy that I was right about who the Sith was, and happier still that they actually showed his face and didn’t drag out the reveal.
I’m totally fine with Zipperface being super powerful and killing a bunch of Jedi, but it’s a little disappointing to see him kill pretty much all the “extras” so easily. It’s almost a bit laughable. I’d have preferred a 45-minute episode where each of those Jedi put up a fight and each were taken out by their more powerful and devious opponent.
I laughed out loud when Mae cut off her hair so that she would look like Osha and pull the little Parent Trap trick on Sol . Partly this is because the similar hairdos—now identical!—were already super goofy. Partly because if you burn hair off it will A) smell and B) not look all perfect. It will look badly singed. There’s a reason people don’t cut their hair with lasers .
I’m also just not a huge fan of Osha or Mae as characters and don’t really find their backstories or personalities particularly compelling. Frankly, I wish this was just the story of a single character, Osha, and it was the Sith trying to turn her and bring her to the Dark Side by revealing the truth about her past.
