Details about The Acolyte characters have been closely guarded, but it was announced during Star Wars Celebration that Rebecca Henderson is playing Vernestra Rwoh in The Acolyte. Vernestra is the first live-action character from The High Republic novels and comics to make the jump from the page to the screen. This marks an even more prominent connection between The High Republic novels and comics and The Acolyte than just the time period.

Jacinto's character could offer a new view of the Jedi, who have been seen as Generals during the Clone Wars, dangers by the Empire, and legends by the Rebellion during the Skywalker Saga. He’s a Jedi. One of many, but being a Jedi in the show is really exciting. I'm really excited for fans to get to see it.
Suotamo is no stranger to playing a Wookie after bringing Chewbacca to life in Solo. However, his approach to this Wookie being a Jedi will be completely different from Chewbacca, possibly tapping into the more spiritual side of the Force. She’s a very powerful leader. She leads women, and I think often Star Wars is very patriarchy-driven. To sort of have this character who is in this matriarchal world felt really cool and interesting and different — and very powerful.
