Those who purchased tickets to this year's convention can either request a refund or transfer it for 2021.

ShareThree months before its scheduled start, Comic-Con International has decided to cancel the 2020 San Diego Comic Convention due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Recognizing that countless attendees save and plan for its conventions each year, and how many exhibitors and stakeholders rely upon its events for a major portion of their livelihood, they had hoped to delay this decision in anticipation that COVID-19 concerns might lessen by summer. Continuous monitoring of health advisories and recent statements by the Governor of California have made it clear that it would not be safe to move forward with plans for this year.

The organization's plans for a Comic-Con Museum have also been affected by the coronavirus pandemic. The scheduled grand opening for the museum was scheduled for summer 2021, but that will also be pushed back to an unannounced time.
