Every year, the outlet ranks the top medical centers in each state, breaking them down based on various specialties and outcomes. This year’s list — its 34th — recognized 484 hospitals throughout the country, ranking their various performance. U.S. News & Word Report says it has refined its methodology to include outpatient outcomes in “key specialty rankings and surgical ratings, the expanded inclusion of other outpatient data, an increased weight on objective quality measures, and a reduced weight on expert opinion” among other changes.10. Located in Paterson, the hospital was rated as “high performing” in heart failure, diabetes and heart attack care.The Stratford, Cherry Hill and Washington Township facilities were deemed “high performing” in heart failure, COPD and diabetes treatment.The Atlantic City hospital was rated as “high performing” in heart bypass surgery, heart failure and colon cancer care.
