Texas running back Roschon Johnson is one of several Texas players who have recovered from minor injuries ahead of Saturday's season opener.AUSTIN – Texas coach Steve Sarkisian said the Longhorns are “really healthy” heading into Saturday’s home season opener against Louisiana-Monroe.
“I credit our training staff, I credit the players that did get nicked up to work themselves back,” Sarkisian said Thursday. The only new addition to the injury list was junior defensive lineman Alfred Collins . But Collins was still able to participate in Thursday’s practice and Sarkisian is “excited about what it looks like for him coming out of this ballgame.”Texas lost Wyoming transfer receiver Isaiah Neyor and fifth-year offensive lineman Junior Angilau to season-ending injuries during the team’s first training camp scrimmage.
But those three plus a few others have all recovered and been cleared for Game 1. And aside from Neyor, Angilau, Collins and Alabama transfer Agiye Hall , Texas will have its full roster available for Saturday’s 7 p.m. kickoff at Royal-Memorial Stadium.
