It also is in charge of securing trial evidence, preserving historic documents and processing passport applications. Most residents’ sole interaction with the district clerk’s office comes in the form of a jury summons in the mail.Like the county clerk, the Democratic incumbent Marilyn Burgess is facing a former Republican District Clerk in Chris Daniel, who lost his job in 2018.
