WASHINGTON — Texas Democrats joined their colleagues on the House floor Thursday to applaudas she announced she will bow out of party leadership in the next Congress to make way for a new generation.
“She’s overseen a recovery from the Great Recession, the pandemic, incredible legislative achievements like the Affordable Care Act, the infrastructure bill and she’s stood up to an insurrection,” Allred said. “I’m thankful for her service and I think every American should be, even if you don’t agree with her politics.”
Republicans will continue to represent a majority of the Texas congressional delegation, which is expanding by two House seats to 38. The midterms produced a 25-13 Texas split in favor of Republicans.
