Fri, March 8th 2024 at 4:49 PMcers to enter their businesses with their guns, thereby jeopardizing public safety.A Texas law allows on-duty and off-duty peace officers to carry their authorized weapons in businesses open to the public. This includes places like restaurants, hotels, arenas, and amusement parks. Businesses cannot make rules that prevent officers from carrying these weapons.
“Texas law must be respected to ensure the safety and well-being of our citizens,” said Attorney General Paxton. “Criminal activity can occur at any time and any place. Peace officers are often well-positioned to prevent and suppress crime, even when they are out of uniform and off duty.” The other four businesses include The Factory in Deep Ellum , Texas Trust CU Theatre , Meow Wolf , and the State Fair of Texas.
