The Houston Texans have signed four of their draft picks ahead of rookie minicamp, and nine undrafted free agents, the team announced Friday morning.
Among the four draft picks they signed were seventh-round pick and safety Brandon Hill, sixth-round picks receiver Xavier Hutchinson and center Jarrett Patterson and fifth-round pick and linebacker Henry To’oTo’o. The Texans have not signed their first five picks: C.J. Stroud , Will Anderson Jr., Juice Scruggs , Tank Dell or Dylan Horton .
Their undrafted free agents who signed include: Tyler Beach, offensive lineman out of Wisconsin; Dylan Deatherage, a tackle out of Western Michigan; Joe Doyle, a punter who played at Memphis; Ali Gaye, a defensive end from LSU; Darius Joiner, a safety from Duke; Jessee Matthews, a wide receiver from San Diego State; Xazavian Valladay, a running back out of Arizona State; Jared Wayne, a wide receiver out of Pittsburgh; and Kilian Zierer, a tackle from Auburn.
The Texans begin their three-day rookie minicamp Friday morning. It’ll be the first opportunity for players to be able to take the field and learn the playbook. “We’re just excited to start to work with those guys and get on the field with them,” Texans coach DeMeco Ryans said Monday. “We’re just asking our rookies to come in and adapt to what we’re asking them to do, learn continue to improve and go out compete to try help our team win games.”
