Texans running back Dare Ogunbowale, saddled behind Dameon Pierce and Rex Burkhead, hadn’t recorded a catch or rush all season before Week 7.But he finally got his opportunity and made the most of it.“Any time you get a chance to play in the league, it’s a blessing,” Ogunbowale said.
The coaching staff used Ogunbowale in the fourth quarter while the Texans were trying to mount a comeback. “We were just trying to find a spark, trying to find ways to score a little bit more,” Texans coach Lovie Smith said. “I don’t think it’s anything more than that. I thought Rex did some good things when he was there. Just keeping guys involved.”
Ogunbowale, who is one of the Texans’ top special teams players, said he’s been preparing as if he’d play on offense every week. So, when his number was called, he was ready.
