Terry Francona, in his 11th season as manager of the Guardians, told reporters Tuesday that he has been in serious conversations with the front office about his future. Before this season, Francona signed an open-ended contract that would allow him to walk away when he felt like it. Francona, 64, has battled a series of health problems over the last several seasons and said he’s feeling “beat up.”
