The dog got into the condominium and Montuoro acted quickly, swatting the bear in the head with a heavy-duty flashlight he was carrying. The bear let go of her grip on Dietl and the couple scrambled into the condo.
“I think I tried to fight, but I just ended up in a fetal position trying to protect my head,” Dietl toldAlthough the couple was safe, the bear was not done showing her displeasure., adding that they called 911 immediately. “I was terrified.”
