In Tuesday’s budget ’23, Ottawa talked about the billions needed in climate policy alone, including $60 billion to $140 billion per year to reach net-zero by 2050. “It will be up to the private sector to make the majority of these investments, but to avoid the consequences of underinvestment, it is critical that governments invest in policy frameworks capable of mobilizing private capital.” Real numbers and details were hard to extract from the 400-plus pages of budget verbiage.
