The teenager and his friends had got involved in a violent row with victim Lewis Rooney, who had ended up at the station with his partner having got on the wrong train.Prosecutor Leanne McQuillan told the High Court in Glasgow:"Douglas ran over to the group. He was seen to have a knife in his hand."She approached Lewis Rooney. He was saying ‘I have been stabbed, I have been stabbed'.
The dad's lawyer, Rhona Anderson, said:"He had got a call from the boy advising him that he had been assaulted by someone brandishing a hammer.Ms Anderson said Douglas, also of Hamilton, had not planned to attack anyone with the blade, but instead to"ward off" any apparent danger.Lord Armstrong continued bail and deferred sentencing until January 18 in Edinburgh.
