“We did not want to be editorial in selecting the plays,” she says. “They may or may not be the types of plays Teatro might present. What was important was that the directors felt connected to the material. I was really curious as to what young, global-minded directors might select. While the topics are challenging, the styles vary from a political, agitprop approach, to dark, fantastical comedy, to the highly poetic.
