The winner of the series will represent the AESHL in the Herder Memorial Trophy championship, scheduled to start April 14.Who the AESHL winner play is still anyone’s guess, although the Deer Lake Red Wings have jumped out to a 2-0 lead over the Corner Brook Royals in the finals of the West Coast Senior Hockey League.Brandon Hynes has been the top producer for the Red Wings with five points in the first two games of the series.
The Royals were led by Matt Colbourne and Liam Smith on the first weekend of the Cliff Gorman Memorial Trophy finals.Deer Lake’s Billy Clarke picked up a pair of wins in goal while posting a 2.00 goals-against average and a .943 save percentage.
