Readers are tired of worrying about their pensions; criticize SB 4; mention JFK’s 1963 address to show the importance of teaching history; worry about a ban on TikTok; and look forward to the solar eclipse.
PSF board member Aaron Kinsey admitted in a public meeting last year that divesting from these funds is “not in the fiduciary interest” and would result in a “20% haircut.” But he still did it!It’s time for Texans to speak out against ideologues’ costly and divisive attacks on the pension plans of teachers and first responders, and on public education funding. Limiting the freedom of investment puts all taxpayers at risk.
An accurate telling of history will cause both anger and tears. National healing is needed. Such healing can happen across the nation. And Dallas can lead in that effort.
