Rapper T-Pain, citing safety concerns about his tour stop in Deep Ellum, announced on social media that’s he moving his show.
, T-Pain said he’s taking his Road to Wisconsin Tour stop to Texas Trust CU Theater in Grand Prairie on June 24.
“Well, I know what you’re thinking, and I don’t have time for ‘I-told-you-sos’ right now, but what the [expletive], Dallas?” T-Pain said on his social media posts., T-Pain sharply criticized Dallas in general because of lagging ticket sales for his show, originally scheduled for the Factory in Deep Ellum. Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson responded, saying T-Pain didn’t need to move the show from Deep Ellum.
“Dallas is the only Top 10 city in the US where violent crime fell last year and overall violent crime is down even more so far this year,” Johnson tweeted. “So, you and your concertgoers should feel safe here.”. Police had increased their presence in the popular nightspot east of downtown Dallas after an uptick in violence that includes other deadly shootings.
