Two suspects were detained Thursday evening in connection with a stolen-car investigation that led to a chase after damaging a BART police vehicle, authorities said.
According to a BART spokesperson, BART police were helping Oakland police with a pursuit of a suspected stolen car in East Oakland when the BART police vehicle was rammed.
The vehicle then led a multi-mile chase along city streets and Interstate 880 lanes into San Leandro before one suspect was detained and arrested. A second suspect was later detained after officers set up a perimeter at a San Leandro address. No details were immediately available on any injuries to police or suspects.
