In Rockwall County, there are major delays on I-30 Wednesday. Police have shut down a large portion of the highway at Dalrock Road.
ROCKWALL, Texas — A suspect has been transported to a local hospital following a chase and shootout with officers in Rockwall, officials said.
Just before 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1, officers were in pursuit of an SUV when their chase ended near the Dalrock Road exit on westbound Interstate 30, according toIn a press release, the sheriff’s office said deputies were involved in a shootout with the lone suspect, and that the shooting resulted in injuries to the suspect. No deputies were injured in the shooting.
WFAA's chopper flew over the scene as several law enforcement agencies arrived. The sheriff’s office said the Texas Rangers are in route. At this time, crews have closed the westbound lanes on I-30 from Horizon Road to the Dalrock exit. The southbound lanes at Dalrock and Sunset Boulevard are also affected, officials said.This is a developing story. We’ll update as more information becomes available.
