A man suspected of shooting a 16-year-old Livermore High student to death in the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant nearly four years ago has been arrested in Mexico and extradited to the United States, authorities said Tuesday night.
Authorities in Mexico arrested Jorge Luis Tellez in October on a warrant and detained him for several months ahead of his extradition, Livermore police spokesperson Azenith Smith said in a statement. He was being held at Santa Rita Jail on Wednesday without bail on suspicion of murder and other charges, Smith said.on July 8, 2019, in the parking lot of a Taco Bell restaurant on Stanley Boulevard.
Attempts to reach Moseby’s family early Wednesday were not successful but in Smith’s statement, his father, Earl Moseby Jr., thanked Livermore police “for never giving up and for bringing us into the next chapter of closure.” He called it “a long process.” Police said Tellez and Moseby argued over something before Tellez pulled out a gun and shot Moseby in the abdomen. Moseby died the next day.
