Man arrested in death of 82-year-old in South Dallas, police say

Updated at 5:10 p.m. with an arrest and the victim's identity.

A 32-year-old faces a capital murder charge in the death of a man who was found bloodied early Sunday in South Dallas. Officers responded about 1 a.m. to a robbery in the 2800 block of Gould Street, near Botham Jean Boulevard and Al Lipscomb Way, where they found Charles Edward Tillery, 82, on the ground in the street with his face covered in blood.Darren Marcel Hanson, 32, was arrested in Tillery’s death. A bond has not been set.

Police did not provide details on how Hanson is connected to Tillery’s death. No additional information was available.
