This week, though, Mahomes and Hurts will be scrutinized for other reasons, as they continue to nurse injuries that could limit their effectiveness. Mahomesto get the Chiefs to Arizona. Meanwhile, Hurts continues to play with an injured throwing shoulder that forced him to miss Weeks 16 and 17 of the regular season and has caused his passing production to dip. The Chiefs and Eagles both need their quarterbacks at as close to full strength as possible to have their best shots at victory.
Reid and the Eagles aren’t the only reunion of the week. Sunday’s game truly is a family affair for Philadelphia’s Jason Kelce and Kansas City’s. The Kelces, who were college teammates at the University of Cincinnati, on Sunday will become the first brothers in Super Bowl history to compete against one other.
