The weather across *most* of the Province will be dry as we close out the weekend. Temperatures in Labrador will be on the cold side, especially in the west, and north where a cold front is moving through.
— Areas of the east, and southeast, will see milder day, with highs near 0º day, ahead of the cold air arriving later this afternoon. On the Island we will generally see a mild day, with highs near, or a few degrees above freezing. The mercury on the West Coast and Northern Peninsulas will begin to fall this evening with the arrival of the cold front. This animation of today’s temperatures shows the progression of the cold air quite well.
Ahead of the front on the Island we will see some light rain along the West Coast, and parts of the south coast today, with scattered showers on the east coast. The showers over southeastern and eastern Newfoundland, including the Avlaon and Bonavista Peninsulas, will become more steady rain overnight. As the cold front sags south, the rain will change to snow from north to south from north to south late in the overnight period before the precipitation ends by 9 or 10 AM Monday.
