The Akron Zoo’s annual Community Days promotion offers Summit County residents free admission in September, while supplies last. Tickets must be reserved on the zoo’s website in advance, according to the zoo. AKRON, Ohio – The Akron Zoo is offering free admission for Summit County residents in September as part of its Community Days promotion.
A limited number of free tickets are available for each day in September. The tickets must be reserved online in advance and there is a limit of four tickets per household. The Akron Zoo has offered Community Days since 2001 after the first zoo tax levy passed in Summit County. The promotion is the zoo’s way of thanking county residents for their support.County residents will need to log in to their zoo account or create one and then log in. Residents can then select a visit date based on remaining ticket availability. Once issued, Community Days tickets may not be rescheduled for a different date. Select tickets to add to your online shopping cart.
There is a service fee charged to reserve tickets, but the zoo is offering free parking for Community Days ticket recipients to offset this fee, according to the zoo website.The Akron Zoo is open 361 days a year. Summer hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Regular admission is $14 for adults, $12 for adults ages 62 and older and $11 for children ages 2-14. Children under 2 are free and parking is $5.
