NEW: Summit County authorities responded to a small wildfire in the Meadow Creek area Sunday afternoon, according to Summit Fire and EMS.

The wildfire, reported around 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Meadow Creek area, was about two-tenths of an acre in size, according to the fire agency. The smoke could be seen to the north of Interstate 70. The fire was between Lily Pad Lake and Meadow Creek Trail, according to the fire agency, which asked passersby to stay away from the area. There were no evacuation orders in place by 3 p.m. Sunday.
The sheriff’s office announced the response at about 1:30 p.m. but did not release any additional detail about the situation.
