No. 2 state-ranked Summer Creek is headed back to the UIL state girls basketball tournament for the second time in program history, joining the 2019 squad. Summer Creek will have a chance to make even more history if the team can reach the state title game. The Bulldogs lost to DeSoto, 58-49, in the semifinals last time around.Pearland accomplished plenty this season, despite the loss Saturday. The Oilers made their first regional championship game appearance since 1991 under first-year head coach Jere' Adams, who guided the program to its 11th consecutive playoff berth.
