Subtropical Storm Nicole was expected to spread gusty winds far and wide from its center. Shown above is the most likely time of the arrival of tropical-storm-force winds. However, there's a low probability Alabama could see some gusty winds from Nicole, as it passes by to the east. Forecasters have noted that there remain uncertainties about Nicole's long-range track.Subtropical Storm Nicole has formed east of the Bahamas and is expected to take aim at Florida in a few days.
The hurricane center’s official forecast track, which could change, takes the center of the storm briefly into the Gulf of Mexico before it curves sharply back to the northeast and toward Georgia and the Carolinas. If the track were to stay the same there could be some gusty winds later this week for parts of Alabama thanks to the pressure difference between Nicole to the east and an area of high pressure to Alabama’s west.
If Alabama remains on the western side of the storm there could actually be lower rain chances thanks to Nicole bringing in drier air from the north.
