Trevor Van Dusen bought his winning LOTTO MAX ticket in Garson
A Sturgeon Falls resident is enjoying a $100,000 lottery win because he said "yes" to adding ENCORE to his lottery ticket. In a news release from OLG it was reported that Trevor Van Dusen matched the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the July 7, 2023 LOTTO MAX draw to win the $100,000.
Van Dusen, a 37-year-old who works in mining services, said he started playing the lottery when he was 18 years old. “I always say yes to ENCORE and I’m especially glad I did this time,” he said, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. The father of three told OLG he got in his truck after work and decided to check his phone.
“My wife sent me a message saying, ‘We have to talk.’ She had checked my ticket and discovered I won!” Van Dusen Trevor called his wife and she sent him a photo of the ticket.“I said, ‘You better not be playing a joke on me.’ She was more excited than I was!”With his windfall, Van Dusen said he will manage his finances and plan a family vacation. OLG said ENCORE offers 22 ways to win and can be played in conjunction with most lottery games for an extra $1. There is an ENCORE draw every day.
