Sudbury was hoping to make it six straight wins, but London wouldn’t pay ball and won the game 105-89
The Sudbury Five were at home Thursday night looking to increase their winning streak to seven games and tie the London Lightning for first place in the National Basketball League of Canada — and the team they faced March 2 was none other than the London Lightning.Right out of the gate, London showed why they are atop the National Basketball League of Canada — with 12 wins and only three losses — and are the defending league champions.
Sudbury wasn't going away, however. Thanks to efforts on both sides of the ball from players such as Duane Notice and Jeremy Harris, Sudbury showed sparks of brilliance, resilience and tenacity in the second quarter, climbing out of a 22-point hole to be down by eight by halftime, with London leading 57-49 at the break.
