“MAXIDENT” is peak Stray Kids.
, which topped the Billboard 200 chart and has since sold over 1.7 million units, in addition to a new partnership with Republic Records, put a lot of expectations on the K-pop group's shoulders. And when it was announced that the album would explore themes of love — something that Stray Kids have typically shied away from in previous releases, at least explicitly — it raised some concerns among their fans who feared the Kids were becoming mainstream.
The album also gives all of the members an opportunity to further develop their songwriting and production skills through a series of three unit tracks. Both "Taste" and "Can't Stop" push them into new sonic territory. "Taste," produced by Hyunjin, continues to explore the dancer's interest in dark, atmospheric R&B and offers an exciting look at what a member outside of 3RACHA has to offer in building out the group's sound.
