North Texas weather: Warm Thursday, then potential thunderstorms Friday
Storm clouds move over downtown Dallas as trains and traffic move along Interstate 35E on Thursday, March 16, 2023. Much of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex experienced heavy rain and strong winds after being placed under several storm warnings throughout the evening.Thursday will be another quiet weather day across much of North Texas. It will be warm with highs in the mid to upper 80s. There is an Air Quality Alert for the DFW and surrounding area for ozone pollution.
The next chance for showers and thunderstorms will be Friday late afternoon and evening. A cold front will sweep through North Texas with a chance of storms. Some storms could become strong to severe with gusty winds and some hail. The cold front will be out of North Texas by early Saturday, so the weekend will be dry and comfortable with high temperatures in the low 80s and relatively low humidity.
