A strong storm system moved through Southern California late Friday afternoon, with some areas seeing hail and lightning, forecasters said.

Thursday’s Santa Ana winds generated a low-pressure system located near the California-Arizona border, National Weather Forecaster David Gomberg said, making way for Friday’s wet afternoon.
