With the two teams battling in the division’s final group, the deciding swing in fortunes came on the 16th hole – or No. 7, because they started the day on the back – when Shea/Durie birdied and Norman-Fortin/Marcoux bogeyed. Like Canadian icon Brooke Henderson, Durie and Shea honed their skills at the Stittsville Golf Course.
Quenneville and Kingsbury were 1-over on Sunday to finish T3 with Glenn Scott and Gary Birtch at 7-under. Meanwhile, Darcy Thomas and Patrick Forsythe shot an even par 72 for a tournament score of 2-under and a convincing seven shot victory in the Bud Light Seltzer D division. Lukas Zubec and Charlie Winton won the Kevin Haime Little Junior Open on Friday at Highlands with a 8-under 64 that included a back nine 30 that saw them record an eagle and four birdies.
